By all means, do what works for you.

November Meeting

Please join our gathering Wednesday, November 15th. Social hour begins at 6:00 pm followed by a potluck dinner at 6:30. Everyone is asked to bring an appetizer, entrée, or dessert for 8 to 10, your tableware, and beverage of your choice. Water, coffee and tea will be available.

Our program this month features the Tommyknocker Cloggers.
The Cornish enjoyed clogging and it's part of our gold mining heritage and history. Clogging originated in the Appalachians with the early settlers in the 1700's. Immigrants shared the folk dances from their homelands, combining them in an impromptu foot tapping style. The word "clog" means "time" in Gaelic, and clogging is a dance in which the dancers' heels keep time with the downbeat of the music.

Also, mark your calendars for the annual "Kirkin' of the Tartan, " a beautiful ceremony to be held at 4:00 pm Sunday, November 19th. This takes place at Trinity Church, Nevada & High Streets, Nevada City. Light refreshments will be served following a blessing of the Tartan with Pipes and Choir.
